But then I started ramblig about if my wintec would fit and I would probably want to get the saddle fitter out there and then I may need to reflock...

He shook his head and said: you english people.lifeshighwayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14389824485602821605noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1963277636652034473.post-37056559864927718062009-06-18T11:23:30.635-07:002009-06-18T11:23:30.635-07:00Trying to find just the right saddle is the worst!...Trying to find just the right saddle is the worst! Sounds like you were lucky to find what you did! I had the best dressage saddle for my Qh when she was younger, loved it for trail riding, then she grew out of it and I then started using my Western all the time. I found a lovely Crosby Corinthian that fit when a friend convinced me to go to a schooling show where I would need an english saddle. It was an impulse buy, but I knew I would like it since I already had a Crosby I loved but didn't fit my horse. Then when I got my morab I started looking for a saddle for her and decided I really liked the wintecs, so I mentioned it on an endurance group and before I knew it I was the proud new owner of a Wintec Endurance!! Before I could even ride my morab! So it sat all winter since I wasn't riding my morab and it did not fit my QH ( I was too cheap to buy the correct size gullet!) then in spring I tryed it on my qh again who had picked up muscle and it fit. It's more comforitable then my crosby on long rides so I started riding in it, even though my first impression was that there was to much bulk underneith my leg with it. I am a little sad that I stopped using my Crosby, although I do still use it for arena work.
So in the course of my mares 8 years she has gone through 4 saddles! And I own 6 full sized horse saddle altogether! Eeeek!

Someday I hope to end the constant saddle changing and buy each of my mares a freeform or custom saddle.

The duett sounds really nice, maybe someday during one of my many saddle changed I will try one out!!

Oops! Sorry for the long comment!JBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13115540814717548371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1963277636652034473.post-89336898033434194252009-06-18T10:48:09.534-07:002009-06-18T10:48:09.534-07:00Great! Keep the comments coming both negative and positive!

Because I bought the saddle used, I cannot speak to the customer service.

I've heard similar complaints in other forums about the seat being very hard. I didn't find it any harder than the thorowgood I have, but I have ample cusioning in that, ummmm....area.

I really like the Thorowgood saddles too.Melhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16627065628317652042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1963277636652034473.post-88515909782923401972009-06-18T10:16:02.388-07:002009-06-18T10:16:02.388-07:00I have been through hell and back getting a saddle...I have been through hell and back getting a saddle to fit both my Belgian/QH and myself. After spending a fotune trying to get the Wintec wide to work I test drove a few saddles.

I absolutely hated the Duett. It felt like I was sitting on a brick. I also did not like the fact that their customer service left a lot to be desired. I had a saddle fitter get one for me to try, as I did not want to be responsible for any damage or problems upon its return.

I gladly ended up with a Thorowgood T6 Broadback. It is fantastic. The quality is beyond amazing for the money. It is synthetic but you'd never know it. People think it's real leather. Makes the Wintec look like a piece of plastic.

Saddle fit is a nightmare and really the only think you can do is try, try, try.Belgian-Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03452352108064504489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1963277636652034473.post-77864252096278954462009-06-18T10:04:24.855-07:002009-06-18T10:04:24.855-07:00thanx for the skinny... i'm a diehard speciali...thanx for the skinny... i'm a diehard specialized saddle fan (and also wintec for english)..
