Just want to reassure everyone that I'm alive and well. I have a CRAZY schedule lately. School has been awesome - lots of field trips and the four person class is just as great as I thought it would be. It's just been really intense since Monday.
Tig has settled well and I climbed on her for the first time tonight. Felt the pressure to get that first ride on the books since the clock is ticking on the week and I have 3 rides to get in (and of course I was crazy excited to see exactly what I've got).
After a MILLION tack adjustments and swaps I *finally* was able to climb on near the end of our session. The final consensus? REALLY green.....but a REALLY good mind.
We are still feeling each other out and getting to know each other, but even through the challenges of today (after dark, I suspect her first time in a lighted area, a major tack snafu early on in the session, was moved today to her permanent pen) I felt good about swinging my leg over, which I can't say of a lot of 3 year olds going on 4 that haven't been ridden in ~1 month.
I have so many thoughts and emotions flooding through my brain and just not enough brain juice to spit them out coherently on paper, so I'm headed to bed.
Youngster fun!
