Hey guys - 20MT didn't go well. Pulled 92 miles, Farley is lame lame LAME. Soft tissue injury to LF, guess at this point is check ligament or deep digital flexor. Either way is bad news. Vet's opinion at the ride was that it was probably a compensation injury due to getting cold/crampy during the first section of the trail, even though she seemed to work out of it for the rest of the ride. I'll give you the full story later tomorrow - I'm still trying to sort some stuff out - including some really bad news I recieved about a friend on a personal side - so please be patient. :)
As a stroke of sheer irony I recieved my high points AERC regional vest in the mail yesterday.
Please keep Farley and I in your prayers. Lame horses are always hard to deal with emotionally and this one has exceptionally bad timing for a number of reasons, including me quitting my job in a couple of months, and - if the rehab goes how I think it will - no real riding until the end of summer, at which point I will be in vet school. I'm not dwelling on it presently as it does no good to make plans until I get a real diagnosis and prognosis. Ultrasound is on Wednesday.
I think we have hooves again

ReplyDeleteHope you get some answers from the ultrasound. Its always harder for me to deal with when I don't know exactly what the problem is, so I hope you get a diagnosis and that it is not as serious as it appears to be.
