Just wanted to drop a quick note to let everyone know that Farley finished both days at Wild West and both of us were very strong at the end of each day. It was absolutely amazing. The first day (Wild West Day 2) was fairly easy, but that might have been because I knew the trails well. The second day (Wild West Day 3) was brutal, but we finished that as well. I learned that Farley and I do much better on technical single track than gravelly jeep roads that go on forever and ever and ever and ever.....
I think I managed to achieve every single one of my goals I had for the weekend, and I think that this was the "smartest" rides I've done to date (pacing, electrolytes, getting off etc.)
I have a lot to say about the weekend but it will have to wait until I have more time to do the ride story justice.
See you in a bit!

...can't wait!!
ReplyDeletecongrats on the finish!
ReplyDeleteNow the big question comes in: did you finish strong enough both days to feel like you can go for the Tevis??? :-)
Congratulations! Can't wait to read the full ride report.
ReplyDeleteI'll talk about it in the next post - but yes, she was SO STRONG after the 2 days. I think she's ready for Tevis. Absolutely rock solid on gait, impulsion, and hydration both days. I'm going to wait 2 weeks to see if any little things pop up before making an official decision. I've learned the hard way that they can look fine the day after, only to have something show up in the 1-2 weeks afterwards.
